One Life Personal Trainer

A lot of us know how to exercise and that we should do more of it, but often a lack of motivation prevents us from getting started. Personal training offers the perfect solution to start you moving and have some fun at the same time! According to your goals, sessions are tailored to your individual requirements and offer the flexibility to fit in around your life. I like to work with a variety of training tools to keep things interesting and challenge your body.

It is my belief that exercise should not just be about aesthetics and body image, but that it should carry over into daily life, enabling you to feel fitter and stronger in your everyday activities; whether that is leisure time with family, improved performance in your chosen sports or improving your posture and flexibility. Our bodies are designed to move using lots of muscles at one time and with over 600 muscles in the human body, I believe it makes sense to utilise as many muscles as possible with each exercise. Training in this way and using natural human movements, provides a real challenge to your cardiovascular system and burns a lot of calories both during and after your workouts.

I particularly love training with kettlebells and TRX. Kettlebells can provide a quick, intense workout, using hundreds of muscles at one time. They are great for fat loss, building strength and challenging your stability and core control. TRX is a suspension training tool that uses bodyweight to develop true functional strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. These two methods of training are extremely versatile and portable, making it easy to bring ‘the gym’ to your home or outdoors.

If you are looking to reduce body fat, or just be in better health, a fitness programme will only go so far, in that you cannot out-train a ‘bad’ diet. There is a lot of conflicting and confusing information in the media about what we should and should not be eating, with endless celebrities following various diets. Nutrition does not need to be complicated. Our bodies need the right fuel to function well and I believe it is important to eat regular, healthy meals, rather than using quick fix fad diets which are often unhealthy in the long term. Eating natural foods where possible and limiting the amount of processed foods you eat is a good place to start. Whether you are looking to lose fat or optimize your sports performance, I can help you.
